UPDATE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to move voting online and reschedule the ‘Displacement’ conference in Plymouth to next academic year.

Students for Global Health are pleased to invite you to Britain’s Ocean City for SfGH’s annual Spring General Assembly.

THEME: DISPLACEMENT

Talks and interactive workshops on the topic of displacement will be running throughout the weekend, and national voting will occur on Sunday.

Joining us we have:

– Keynote speaker Saif Ali, founder of Intergr8 UK and former refugee from Iraq who will be talking about his 18 year journey seeking asylum and how he came to set up a social enterprise here in Devon.
– Workshop by from Lizzie Hobbs, a PhD researcher in gender, justice and security issues at the London School of Economics whose research focuses on the gender, displacement and humanitarian policies.

More speakers TBA.

Ticket can be purchased here.
Tickets will include breakfast, lunch and refreshments on both days, as well as an optional social ticket (including dinner) for Saturday evening.

We anticipate some branches may face challenges accessing the conference as it’s going to be in Plymouth – we will be organising a link for car sharing, so do get in contact if this is something you are interested in.

ALL branches except those in South-West region are eligible for a discounted ticket – please contact your regional coordinator or reply to this email for a code.
