InciSioN

Who are they?
InciSioN Network  – the International Student Surgical Network – were affiliated to SfGH at our Spring General Assembly in 2020. Their UK branch (Incision UK) were originally an SfGH National Working Group under the name Global Health Surgery but gradually grew into their own society. InciSioN Network is a campaign group made up of medical students and doctors who’s primary aim is to increase the amount of research undertaken in Global Surgery.

What do they do?
Their work is divided into three pillars:

  • Advocacy – aiming to spread the word of Global Surgery through online and in-person campaigns
  • Education – aiming to contribute to the development of the future generation of global surgeons, anaesthesiologists and obstetricians
  • Research – aiming to map the global state of surgical care, perform research on surgery in low-resource setting and barriers in surgery
