Cardiff Students for Global Health is an active society welcoming both medics and non medics! We put on events throughout the year to educate and advocate for a wide range of global health issues. We are a gold tier society with a great committee, and we hope to bring you loads of interesting events this coming year.

To give you an idea of what we do, last year we put on a short course of 6 events based on the theme ‘Disparities in Healthcare’. We had talks on homelessness, women’s health, the refugee crisis, BAME experiences and more! Speakers range from healthcare professionals, representatives from charities, and non-profit organisations.

In the spring term, we had a few more talks on mental health and heard from a speaker from Medecins Sans Frontieres. We also had a talk about fast fashion and its impact today and we ran a clothes swap in the Students Union which was really successful and had a lot of interest!

Although there are restrictions this year, this isn’t stopping us from putting on a wide range of events. We are offering a virtual short course in the Autumn term, with a certificate of attendance which not only will look great on your CV, but will be a chance for you to learn more about global health issues in our world today. We are planning virtual social events, quizzes and fundraisers, and will be a really exciting year! Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with what we are doing, and feel free to message or email us if you have any questions!

We look forward to welcoming you to our society!
