Students for Global Health is thriving in Bristol! We put on many events throughout the year including our welcome events, Global Health dinners, Short-course and sometimes even a Global Health conference! We try to centre our events around the fundamental ethos of Global Health ‘Educate, Advocate, Act’.

Last year we ran an 8 part short-course on everything from what’s being done to tackle Climate Change (locally in Bristol and Globally) to the current Refugee Crisis. Our events are open to all and we love taking on new projects or collaborations with other societies (like last year running an event with Sexpression).

This year we hope to be running a small independent conference on Technology and Global Health (COVID permitting), which is a less often covered topic within Global Health. Technology has the potential to revolutionise healthcare and access to vital resources in the Global South, yet often is poorly utilised or is not shared adequately across the Globe. Technology could be the potential solution to many of the UN sustainable development goals!
