Health systems are the backbone of any society. They allow people to be born, live and die in comfort, dignity and peace. Destroying a healthcare system is equivalent to erasing all aspects of safety in a society. Students for Global Health UK (SfGH UK) has a commitment to its vision, which is “a fair and just world where health equity exists for all”.
As an organisation, we strive to protect and promote the rights of individuals and groups to universal healthcare, Human Rights and systemic justice. Over the past 11 months, many of our members have been involved in local, national and international efforts of Palestinian solidarity.
This statement is to clarify our stance on the issue and explain the evidence behind it. Like so many people around the world, we want to see a free Palestine and an end to the Israeli occupation and its apartheid regime.
