My name is Sami El-Nagi and I will be continuing my role as the National Officer for Research Exchanges (NORE) for Outgoing students for my second year. As part of my role, I am the SfGH representative for the IFMSA’s Standing Committee on Research Exchanges (SCORE), alongside my friend and colleague, Ziyaad Surtee, who is the NORE for Incoming students. Together, in a nutshell, we organise research projects around the UK and coordinate the exchange of students between the UK and other IFMSA National Member Organisations (NMOs) to undertake these research projects.
This is a role that I have thoroughly enjoyed as it directly connects us to other NMOs and helps to create a more global and inclusive community in which global health is studied, supported, and promoted for a healthier, more sustainable world. Research is how we can understand the issues we face on a deep and actionable level, and it is an honour to be able to represent SCORE in SfGH.
