Ebony

Hi, my name is Ebony and I am a Branch Coordinator for SfGH this year! Being a Branch Coordinator involves maintaining consistent communication with branches throughout the year to support their events and foster coordination among them. The primary goal is to facilitate capacity-building activities, promote the work of branches within the national SfGH network, and cultivate both new relationships with emerging branches and strengthen connections with existing ones. Branch Coordinators work closely with the DBA to enhance communication and expand the network. The busiest period runs from August to October, focusing on recruiting new branches, supporting the establishment of active committees, and preparing branch packs for Freshers’ Week. Starting early on these tasks is essential, and working as part of a team can streamline the process. Key events typically occur from February onward, with 2-3 conferences held annually. In addition, termly branch meetings are organised to promote upcoming events, update branches on new opportunities, and foster relationship-building among members. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with branches and connect with like-minded individuals across the UK. It’s an ideal introduction to the work of SfGH and a valuable way to develop your leadership and organisational skills.
