The Responsible Placements (formerly Ethical Electives) National Working Group’s goal is to support Medsin members in thinking how to improve international placements to become more beneficial for all involved. The group’s current main task is to pull together resources to develop a toolkit for individuals and branches to use when planning placements. The Responsible Placement NWG has recently gained more autonomy, and reports to the Global Health Education Director.
The Responsible Placement Working Group is currently looking for a new lead, and it could be you! The lead would help to coordinate the development of the toolkit, represent the group at national conferences and relevant events and advocate for the importance of responsible placements. Experience in Students for Global Health is not required but a passion for the topic and the ability to work in a team is essential. The new lead would also receive support from the Global Health Education Director, the Policy and Advocacy Director and the other members of the group if needed.
If this all sounds like something that you would be interested in, please send a 300-word (max) application to email@example.com explaining why you would like to be the new lead and what you will bring to the team. The deadline is Friday 17th November. You can also send any questions about the position or the NWG to the same address. Good luck!
